The first major monograph devoted to Edward E. Boccia (1921–2012), the book examines the extraordinary career and work of this American painter, whose monumental paintings engage spirituality, literature, mythology, Italian art, and the complexities of the human condition.
As lead author and editor, I have brought together new scholarship on Boccia’s life, artistic practice, and remarkable body of work. The volume also includes contributions by Natalie Prizel, Ben Street, and Charles Grund, and is richly illustrated with color plates.
